How God Views Humans
The reason God’s love sent Jesus to the world, is because this is how God views humans…
One of the great benefits of the Bible is that we get to see how God views things. That is amazing, isn’t it?
We get to see how he views us, as his children.
And we get to see how God looks upon those who do not know him.
From our human point of view, we could see these same people as a threat. As immoral. As ruining society. Maybe even as evil.
And, in a sense, that might all be true. But it might not be the way God wants us to view them.
I’d like to share a few verses regarding how God describes them.
Matt 9:36 – “When he [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
Rev 3:17 – Jesus sees them as pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed…”
Jesus sees them with compassion. Needing to be found. Needing to know the Shepherd.
In Ephesians 2:12, we are reminded that we too were once “without God and without hope in this world.”
Titus 3:3 “For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.”
It is always humbling for me to see how God views the lost — it’s with compassion. It’s why God brought us to himself!
Sometimes, maybe often, we need to ask God to give us his eyes, his heart for the lost. To see them as he does. To realize they are blind, lost, without a Shepherd, so of course they act as they do!
They don’t know how to get to the right place – they are blind, lost!
Jesus asks us to tell them about his love for them, to realize he wants to be their Shepherd.
One of the easiest ways is to share articles and videos from EveryStudent.com. God speaks to so many through it. It answers many of the questions they have about life, about God.
I’m hoping it easy for you to share the site with those who need to know him. Get some business cards to carry with you. I use it all the time when I have conversations with people.
